Energy Efficient Buildings
Since various requirements of the national or European goverments are or will be imposed in terms of energy efficiency of buildings and CO2 reduction in general, this topic is very relevant for EFL members as well. Therefore, the working group “Energy Efficiency” is one of the biggest and most active ones with many project ideas and funding opportunities.
The working group meets 3-4 times a year and develops many project ideas in between. Born and raised within EFL for instance is the IEE (Intelligent Energy Europe) funded project TRIME (Trias Mores Energetica), dealing with behaviour change among social housing residents across Europe to motivate them to save energy and save money on their energy bills.
Long-term goal would be to build an EFL Zero Energy house, the concept is already in development.
Chairman of the group is Henk Visscher (TU Delft).
