EFL Social Topic Group Meeting – Thursday, 2 July 2020
The EFL Topic Group Social Domain will meet for the first time virtually on Thursday 2nd July at 10.00 – 11.30 BST / 11.00 – 12.30 CEST. This will be a first opportunity for new Topic Group Leader, John Stevens, from Clarion Housing Group to meet with current and prospective Social Domain group members and to discuss the progress of this group’s projects.
The webinar will focus on three key areas:
- Social Topic Group Project Ideas:
The SD group offers exceptional opportunities to create projects that cut across national boundaries, access funding and work with a range of stakeholders to address common challenges. In this webinar, the group will dedicate some time to an interactive session to brainstorm project ideas using Coggle.
- COVID19 Resident Survey Questions:
As countries across Europe start moving out of lockdown and become accustomed to the ‘new normal’, there are concerns about the social and economic impacts of COVID-19 on residents. Clarion has developed a set of COVID19 specific questions that that are currently in the field (which will be sent to all attendees) and a member of the Clarion research team will present these in the webinar.
- Sharing and Publicising COVID-19 Good Practice:
Out of the crisis, EFL members have responded in innovative ways including delivering food, helping to connect isolated residents and keeping essential services going. The TG Social Domain is keen bring these examples together in the form of a publication that could be used by academics and journalists reporting on COVID-19. If you are attending the meeting and have examples of good practice that you would like to share, please feel free to post these on the MS Teams site, or bring them with you to the meeting.
If you’re interested in joining the TG Social Domain and would like to attend this webinar, please contact email@example.com and the EFL team will send you the relevant documents, including slides outlining what Social Topic Group projects could look like and suggestions to prompt ideas. If you have any suggestions for project ideas in advance of the meeting, please also feel free to email us and John will include them in his mind map ahead of the meeting.
