Introduction
Within EFL, we work on a broad range of projects. EFL’s objective, realising sustainable housing and living environments, is achieved through a combination of dedicated measures. In the projects, mutual cooperation is effectuated by the exchange of the complementary parties’ knowledge and experience. Each party contributes its own expertise. In addition, EFL also actively pursues innovation of knowledge by entering into partnerships with expertise institutions, colleges of higher education and universities, who support the EFL partnership with the latest scientific knowledge. Much of this new expertise will be implemented in project and concept developments.
The present project portfolio has the following themes:
- Energy-efficient construction and renovation
- Use of sustainable and innovative energy sources in relation to living
- Floating Homes in urban areas
- Influencing lifestyle patterns of tenants and owners towards an energy-saving lifestyle
- Integral restructuring of post-war residential areas and realising differentiated living environments
- Combination of living and ambulant care facilities
- Interactive communication systems for elderly people (SOPHIA)
Apart of the projects initiated by EFL itself, the partners also cooperation in relation to innovative projects which are subsidised with the European Union.
An example thereof is the EFL participation in two projects of the European programme Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE):
